One of the hottest new design trends nationwide puts chandeliers in places where you would not expect to see one.
Chandeliers, which are normally found in the foyer or dining room area, are now popping up in unexpected places, such as kitchens, walk-in closets, as well as bathrooms.
Schonbek Worldwide Lighting creative director Eileen Schonbek Beer claims that she saw the trend emerge when people wanted to start putting chandeliers in intimate spaces, and evolve into the trend that it is today.
Beer believes that chandeliers are not just lighting pieces, but are also pieces of art, which is why her company created an interactive feature to its website so that people can define a space in a way that is kind of unique to them, giving the customers the ability to be creative and experiment with various styles before actually putting it up in the actual room.
Ellyn Elstien, president of Creative Closets in Allentown, Pa., believes that chandeliers can add something special to the place by giving it an ambience or an aura.
The development in chandelier styles now offers people a lot of choices, which is a big improvement as compared to before when you only had very limited choices, such as the type of material used on the armatures on chandeliers, which was limited to brass 15 years ago.
These new designs are made by the different chandelier designers due to the new and eclectic ways that chandeliers are being used nowadays, wherein such new designs include new shapes and colors for the lighting fixture.
